I take it I’m not the only one having “that” kind of week. Let me get you the results here and then I’ll lay it out for you.
- Allie: down 0.50%
- Beth: down 0.85%
- Evy: down -0.20%
- Jen: down 0.95%
- Melissa: down -1.23%*
- Moon: down 0.00%
- Trisha: down 0.00%+
That means that Jen is our weekly winner! Yay!
So, let me lay it out for you. Sunday I learned that my friend (and former patient), Josh, had been rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition. Yesterday I found out that he had ceased to have any brain function and that they would be removing life support. John, my mom (Beth), and I were able to get down there yesterday afternoon and say goodbye and his family removed him this morning. The funeral should be Friday and the “celebration of life” party will be Thursday.
Apart from letting you all know what’s going on with me, the reason I chose to share this with you all is that Josh had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and this is why he not only died, but died so young. So guys, I was wondering if any of you with even a small amount of disposable income (because who needs yet another $5 coffee or meal from Wendy’s?) would be open to helping John and I get together a sizable donation for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. I’m hoping to have a big donation that we can give in Josh’s name instead of funeral flowers. I know this is something his family would really appreciate.
If you’d be willing to pitch in, let me know. Thanks!
